LEGAL — REFUND POLICY

Refund Policy

Last updated July 20, 2026

What's refundable and what isn't, by service — because a patent filing fee, a website milestone, and a live ad campaign don't work the same way.

01Overview

Because our four service lines work differently — one involves government filing fees, another ongoing ad spend, another staffing placements — refund terms vary by service. This page sets out the default position for each; the proposal or invoice for your specific engagement always takes precedence if it states something different.

02Patent services

Paralegal service fees (drafting, search, docketing) are refundable in full if you cancel before work has started. Once drafting or search work is underway, fees are refundable only for the unstarted portion of the engagement.

Government and patent office filing fees are not refundable once an application has been submitted, as these are paid to and controlled by the relevant patent office, not by Techealer.

03Website development

Website builds are typically billed in milestones (e.g. deposit, design approval, launch). The initial deposit becomes non-refundable once design or development work begins on your project. Fees for milestones already completed and delivered are non-refundable; fees for milestones not yet started are refundable if you cancel.

Third-party costs — domain registration, app or plugin licenses, hosting — are billed as incurred and are non-refundable once purchased on your behalf.

04Resource allocation

Placement and onboarding fees are refundable if a placement doesn't proceed before the agreed start date. Once a dedicated resource has started work, fees already invoiced for time worked are non-refundable. Cancellation of an ongoing placement requires the notice period stated in your engagement terms.

05Digital marketing

Service fees for strategy, content, and campaign management are refundable for any period of work not yet started. Once a campaign is live, service fees for that billing period are non-refundable, as work and platform setup have already been carried out.

Ad spend passed through to Google, Meta, or other ad platforms is non-refundable once a campaign has launched, as this is controlled by the platform, not Techealer.

06How to request a refund

Email hello@techealer.com with your name, the engagement or invoice in question, and the reason for your request. We aim to acknowledge refund requests within one business day and resolve them within 10 business days of approval.

07Generally non-refundable

Across all services, the following are non-refundable once incurred:

  • Government, patent office, and platform fees paid to third parties on your behalf.
  • Work for milestones or deliverables already completed and delivered to you.
  • Ad spend on live campaigns.

08Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision, and applies to engagements confirmed after that date.
